Too Tired to Run

A laundry list of excuses pulled me from this early 22 mile AM run which I'll spare you the boring details. Long story short I went back to sleep upon return.

Closing out on Week 4 of the Boston Marathon Training



This build is flying by and all injuries are at bay. Knock on wood, right, not to say there aren't a few 'concerns.'

The mileage has been on the high end of the program lately along with group calisthenics, Zumba and some Yoga.

Tomorrow has 15 miles on the books. Let's all stay healthy!

Driving Pouring Rain

It came down like cats and dogs for awhile and then the heat lightning would brighten the sky as I ran for the back gate. Having reached it faster than the return trips tailwind is beyond me.

An average 8:00/mile is the calculation pace leaving me to believe I've become a slower runner despite my hard efforts. Total 9.35 miles for the run, later I did group calisthenics, three short runs totaling 2.25 miles and one hour of yoga.

Run The Intervals

Out of the 1m-2m-1m yesterday morning the last mile came in at a sub-6:00/mile pace. This hopefully is a sign of faster running.

A Long Run - Finally

It seems a long time has passed since I ran over two hours. This early morning was a 2:31:46 run for 18.2 miles on an out and back. Strong headwind out, dropping temperatures and tail on return for a negative of 1:34.

The big test is to see how my right foot holds up. A little tender later in the day so down went an aleve and some salty cold water treatment.

Zumba Running

What is Zumba? Can Zumba help a marathoner? If you don't know, like me before today, it's time to get with it. For a marathoner it's akin to doing yoga as being unnatural in stretching and inline running.



Reviewing last years injuries means CHANGE the program or you'll get the same results. So, yoga and Zumba is in. How about you?

Snowshoeing Around Puffer Pond

Snowshoes were calling this morning to loop Puffer Pond over at the ARNWR. I created this pretty lame video after being isnpired by Jamie. The batteries died and Windows Movie Maker crashed once so a ten minute edit is what we have.



The schedule was for 14 miles, snowshoes were around five and then maybe 3.5 miles on the road for the day. I feel a little disappointed in the overall effort.
